I get a lot of flack for being someone who's never experienced a breakout. As if that is some sort of supreme privilege? Maybe it is. Still, I don't feel obligated to apologize. I've experienced other things in life, just as horrific or worse. And since stress leads to wrinkles I've taken a keen interest in protecting and preserving this porcelain mug of mine!
Here is my routine:
I drink at least one litre of water a day and I've done this for as long as I can remember.
I also never liked sweets, this includes cakes, pie, chocolate, cookies, suckers... they were a hard pass for me. I made it to 29 without fillings or a cavity! Again, I make no apologies.
I use Origins Checks & Balances Frothy Face Wash. It smells like peppermint and it gets my face clean no matter how much makeup I'm wearing, without being abrasive. Did I mention that it smells of peppermint? Be still my heart!
I have combination skin so like the name says this product helps balance that. Some will say this range is too expensive. I beg to differ. A little goes a long way. I'm talking a dime-sized amount. The results you will see and the time it takes to use the entire tube far outweigh the price. Invest in yourself.
While I've got the cleanser still on my face I use the Clarisonic Mia 2 Skin Cleansing Brush to be sure my skin is being exfoliated and that I'm not "surface cleaning". I cannot fully explain the difference the Clarisonic has made.
This brush is a game-changer. Young or old, if you love (or hate) your skin you need to buy one! My foundation and concealer look so much better because they're no longer clinging to dry patches or laying on top of oxygen-deprived pores.
It buffs dead skin cells away allowing my moisturizer to do its job, my skin to look brighter and my complexion even. Then I'll use a toner. Most recently I've beanLoving Embryolisse Eau de Beaute Rosamelis (Flower Essence Toner). It's not astringent and smells of roses. (if you're concerned about aging avoid all types of alcohol) There is no alcohol in this product! There's something about French makeup and skincare... they keep it simple and they get it right. Lastly and this is something I use on the majority of clients... I hydrate my skin with Embroylisse Lait Creme Concentrate.
I was introduced to this product while watching professional makeup artist Sam Chapman of Pixiwoo who also swears by it!
Sam and I both have dry skin so it works well for us. If you're someone who's predominately oily they have a formula called Hydra-Mat Emulsion for you. I use it day and night, sometimes as a primer under makeup. If used as a primer I prefer to use a clean Real Techniques Sculpting Brush to apply it evenly.
Lait Creme Concentrate is not greasy. It has a soft powdery finish and calms my skin like no other! This moisturizer is not anything like a cold cream that might disgust the person sleeping next to you. If anything they're going to touch your baby soft face and begin plotting how to steal the bottle for themselves! Do you think men don't do that? Think again.
